This Xero HFS is the 10th pair of Xero shoes that presently exists in my extended household of 5. This is not counting the ones I have worn out over the years. There are barefoot shoes that are well, really bare, eg Vivobarefoot shoes. The sole is so thin I sometimes feel I need to be really careful where I step for fear of hurting myself. There are other barefoot shoes by the big brands eg Nike that just won't cut it. After all, the idea of barefoot shoe is the antithesis of the cushiony, heel strike shoes that is the signature of Nike and the likes. And then, there is Xero shoes.Xero is barefoot in every way. Zero drop, wide toe box, lightweight, excellent ground feel but with just enough foot protection for me to not feel I need to tread cautiously. This is particularly important for older runners like myself(I am approaching 60 years old), who although having run in all types of barefoot shoes over the years, just having that ever so slight and subtle protection without it feeling like it is too much of a compromise on barefoot running is most helpful. At my age, my goal is to keep up with my health and lifestyle sustainably without risking injuries. Injuries take longer to heal, and it is necessary to exercise in an age appropriate manner. The HFS looks great. It feels great to run in. It is not overpriced(at least compared to Vivobarefoot shoes). Makes you wonder why the company chose to name their shoes XERO and not Ten!I bought these for a sim racing shoe. Water shoes felt to soft in the sole, loose fitting, substandard build quality and material. Puma speedcats and similar are too narrow footed and uncomfortable only tested in store. Sparco race shoes have the same issue being way to narrow at the toes. Also who wants to wear a full race spec shoe in their bed room. The Xero HRS fit the bill for what I was looking for. Very light and breathable, good build quality so far, excellent feel through the sole for what your feet are touching. And the wide foot toe space is amazing while still holding a smaller profile than a typical shoe. I am sure they a great for many purposes, I want a pair to exercise/lift in as well.I hate shoes, all of them, they are all terrible. I wanted to try a minimalist shoe because i really dont like most other shoes. Took about a week to get used to them and gain some foot strength. These have changed the way i walk and actually make normal shoes more comfortable. I love how light and flexible they are. I really want to try the Prio all day in the office to see if i can ditch my work shoes. Interested to see how they fare in winter and a sloppy spring. I suspect i will be buying Xero shoes going forward. My current walking and weekend shoe.Tip: For Xero shoes, at least for the ones i bought, Men's HFS Running Shoes order 1/2 size larger than the normal athletic shoes you wear.So far I have no complaints at all, I ordered 1/2 size larger and it fit perfect, very lightweight and comfortable. In the review option it had 'working out', 'comfort' and 'support'. I only put 3 stars for support because that is confusing in this context, as these are minimalist/barefoot shoes and the shoe 'support' is minimal, but that doesn't mean it is bad, it is exactly what I wanted. My ONLY issue is on certain surfaces like tile if you drag your foot across the floor, it makes a very LOUD squeaking sound and can be a little annoying at times. Solution: lift my feet more :PI like how I can feel the ground beneath my feet. The upper construction is very lightweight. And they breath well with the mesh upper.. these are the best for indoor aerobics or track running. Outdoors would be limited to well traveled paths. I could see how a rough trail would destroy these shoes. Overall I am happy with them..I love this shoe overall. They're just a 'tad' bit small. Great feel and comfort. I'll put a more descriptive review on the size 12's for Men. I ended up giving the 11.5's to my younger brother. He happens to have somewhat smaller feet than I do. It took me a while to figure out my true size as I'm still new and getting used to the barefoot game.As far as my size 12's go - they are perfect! I had dreamt of buying these shoes and making these my first pair of barefoots ever! They feel extremely comfortable - inside & out. The quality of the materials feel like an average sneaker. I love the anatomical toe box as it gives me room to spread my feet. These are my everyday shoes. I will continue to be a customer with the company unless otherwise noted. I'm even part of their 'inner circle.' They're website and company morals are great. I highly recommend you check them out. These are great in every way so far! (2 weeks in). I do think they sacrificed durability of the shoe for lightweight. Normally I aim for my shoes to last 5 years...I think these will last closer to 2-3 before the uppers wear out and begin looking rattyThey are cool looking. They do take some getting used to. I walked 2 1/2 miles in them and they keep your feet very connected to the road. No chance of rolling your ankle since they have a zero drop on the heel. Give them a chance. They make your feet stronger feeling. You'll get soar but but it's worth it.Extremadamente cómodo, este modelo tiene mejor diseño que otros de la marca, es más ligero y los materiales se ven de buena calidad. Muy recomendableI normally never find shoes that fit my feet, but these shoes fit like a frigging glove ?Couldn’t be happier, like I go to bed looking forward to going for a long walk/run in the morning. The color is also really beautiful! The pictures don’t make em justice.
